The Elusive Mr. Pinchy


For those of you who don’t know, or are looking for more information about how to obtain Mr. Pinchy this is the place to be! Mr. Pinchy is a rare (blue) drop only obtainable through fishing in WoW.


He is, therefore, a very hard drop to grab and desired by all avid fishermen.

Mr. Pinchy is


BoP and as the tooltip to the left shows he grants three “wishes.” I wished for another epic flying mount for my alt, but that didn
’t work out. So how do you catch Mr.
Pinchy in the first place? If you’re seeing this you kinda can get the idea that you catch him in the Terokkar Highlands. Mr. Pinchy is only catchable in the Mixed Highland Pools strewn throughout the three highland lakes of Terokkar, which can be reached only by flying mount. Lake Jorune, Lake Ere’Noru, and Blackwind Lake all require a ridiculous amount of skill to cast, and an insane amount to ensure no “Your Fish Got Away” messages.

A minimum of 430 is required to cast, with 525 necessary to catch every cast. More info can be found on the Terokkar Highlands page (which brought you here). Basically you fish these pools until Mr. Pinchy drops. As you an see from my screenshot he has the exact same look as a normal Furious Crawdad, except for the name and blue lettering. I didn’t even realize that he was something special until I clicked to loot and the BoP warning box appeared. Speaking of which, always be careful when fishing for anything that is BoP. Any false step by your character and that loot window, and anything in it is gone forever (although a nice GM might give it back).


From information I’ve gathered through forums and other websites there are several confirmed results of the use of Mr. Pinchy’s wishes. I can confirm that he does indeed give you the jealousy-enducing:


Which summons your magical crawdad (the only pet I will never vendor in WoW). The other ones are:

  1. •Benevolent Mr. Pinchy: He summons a lvl 70 gaurdian that will help you in battle.

  2. •He will give you the Flask of the Titans buff (+1200 HP for two hours, persists through death).

  3. •Furious Mr. Pinchy: A level 70 non-elite version of Benevolent Mr. Pinchy, who will attack you and your party and is easily disposed of.

  4. • A Gift Box with 5 Super Mana Potions, and 5 Super Healing Potions.


All in all a great bit of fun for the fisherman in all of us! I got very lucky on my first try and received the Crawdad Box, it’s a lot of fun and I’ve gotten many tells asking me how I got it, where etc... thanks to this page I can just refer them to the website!
